Jail Ministry

About This Project

On behalf of the inmates of the Daviess County Detention Center we minister to and share the Gospel.

This project reaches all 600+ inmates, multiple times over the course of the year.

How We Do It

The committee works with the Jailer and Jail Chaplain to determine what is most needed.

Members of our churches are very generous with donations and volunteer their time for this ministry.  Do you have pretty handwriting to prepare Cards for the inmates?  We love to reach new volunteers and would love to hear from you, if you are interested!

A Great Need

Financial Donations are needed to purchase phone cards, video calls, socks, hygiene items, food, devotionals, pens and  notebooks. Please designate monetary donations to be for the Jail Ministry.

Socks are a huge need for inmates.  Must be black or white.

Donations may be mailed or delivered to:

Daviess – McLean Baptist Association

Daviess County Detention Center

Daviess County Jailer Art Maglinger would like to recognize the Daviess-McLean Baptist Association (DMBA) for their exceptional generosity!  Children are unintended victims of the consequence of incarceration, and the DMBA has been faithful to provide these children with Christmas gifts each year.  This year, the DMBA provided approximately 800 gifts, which were sent to the children and grandchildren of all of the inmates of the Daviess County Detention Center.

The gifts included a personalized Christmas card, a $15 gift card and a Bible (age appropriate, if possible) for every child.  Thank you to the DMBA and everyone from our community, who contributed and participated in this wonderful ministry!”
